“I recollect the days of antiquity; I ponder over all Your creations; I contemplate the work of Your hands. I stretch out my hands towards You; my innermost being thirsts for You, like a parched land.” Psalm 143:5, 6.
The vision of lofty, tiered mountains graced with majestic beauty captivates our gaze. These mountains stand like ancient fortresses, their rocky battlements resembling the castles of old. In their grandeur, they echo the narrative of God’s just wrath in response to His law violated—a reminder of the upheavals during the great deluge. They resemble waves, once tumultuous but stilled at the Divine call—frozen in their cresting glory. These towering peaks are under Divine dominion; God reigns within their rocky strongholds. The treasures within their mines are His, as are the depths of the earth itself.
Should you seek evidence of a Divine presence, open your eyes wherever your journey leads. God speaks to your senses and imprints upon your soul through His handiwork. Embrace these impressions, and nature will become a vast volume, teaching divine truths through familiar sights. The noble trees will no longer be mere bystanders. Every unfolding blossom, every delicate leaf’s intricate veins, bear witness to the skill of the Great Artist. The massive rocks and towering mountains, stretching into the horizon, are not mere accidents. They converse in eloquent silence, revealing the One who sits enthroned over the cosmos, elevated and exalted. “Known to God are all His works from the beginning of the world.” His designs are flawless. What reverence and awe His name should instill!
The Divine is the Rock of Ages, a sanctuary for His people, a shelter from storms, and a refuge from scorching heat. He grants us promises more unshakable than the granite heights—the everlasting hills. Though mountains may crumble and hills may shift, His kindness remains unwavering, His covenant of peace unyielding to those who, through faith, choose Him as their anchor. If we sought His assistance as earnestly as these rocky, barren mountains point to the heavens above them, our faith in Him and our allegiance to His sacred law would never falter.
