I perceive the hand of Divine Providence in all the works of the Eternal One… The clouds and rain, as well as the radiant sunshine, have their appointed purpose in bestowing blessings upon humanity. The Eternal One knows precisely what is needed, moving forward in a straight line, sending blessings upon the just and the unjust alike. I am profoundly thankful that finite minds do not have the ordering of creation. What cross-purposes would be revealed!
Human comprehension often remains narrow, which dishonors the Divine. Let not those who follow the teachings of the Teacher of Righteousness entertain the thought that the mercies of the Eternal One are confined to them and to the few in whom they hold interest. The love and mercy of the Eternal One are for all. Let us gather the divine tokens of His favor and return praise and gratitude to Him for His goodness, which is bestowed upon us not to be hoarded, but to be shared with others. The Eternal One expects all who enjoy His grace to spread this grace as freely as the Teacher of Righteousness bestows His mercies. Just as the sun shines upon the just and the unjust, so the Sun of Righteousness reflects light to the whole world.
The blessings of the Eternal One, from the sunshine to the showers, heat to cold, and every natural blessing, are given to the world. Exclusiveness is not to be upheld by any people. “I am the light of the world,” declared the Teacher of Righteousness. Light is a blessing, a universal blessing, pouring forth its treasures upon an ungrateful, unholy, and morally compromised world. The Teacher of Righteousness came to tear down every wall of exclusion, to open every barrier in the temple where the Eternal One presides, so that every ear may hear, every eye may see, and every thirsty soul may drink freely from the waters of life.
The Eternal One scatters blessings along our path… We have the choice to weep, groan, mourn, and stumble at every step, or we can gather the precious, fragrant flowers and rejoice in the Eternal One’s goodness, which makes our path to ascent a pleasant one.
